Jarrell High School Library

The library is an important part of each student’s learning experience. High School patrons visit the library throughout the day, with permission from the classroom teacher. JHS library is open for checkout from 8:00AM to 4:30 PM. Students must have a library pass to visit the library during school hours. Our goal is to nurture learning while developing a love for reading.

Borrowing Materials: Students are allowed to check out print materials using their district issued ID number for a two week period. Students may renew items during the initial loan period for an additional two weeks. Students may borrow materials from the library with the understanding that they are responsible for all items checked out under his/her name.

Electronic Resources:  Please visit the Jarrell High School Homepage for an extensive list of helpful links to assist in student success. In addition, Gale research databases can be accessed from school or home via the library homepage.

Chromebooks- Each student is issued a Chromebook for use during the academic year. JISD requires students to pay a usage fee of $25 per year. Students are entrusted with the responsible care and use of the Chromebook, including keeping it secured in the protective cases. Students are expected to bring the Chromebook to school on a daily basis.

Internet: All students are welcome to use the internet responsibly in the library and must have an Acceptable Use Agreement on file as per district policy.  Students may print to the library printer, the fee is $.05 per black and white page and $.10 per color page.

Interlibrary Loan ( ILL): Students may request materials from any library in Jarrell ISD unless a parent requests a restriction of this privilege. All ILL requests should be made at the school where the student is enrolled, and all items will be checked out and returned to the student’s home campus library.
